Terms of use

Last updated 5 June 2026

The short version

Feedwise gives you free tools, and an invite-only account beta, to help you think about feed, pasture, animal health and soil nutrients. The numbers it produces are indicative decision support — a starting point, not professional advice. They’re not a substitute for your vet, nutritionist or agronomist, and the decisions you make off the back of them are yours. The full terms are below; by using Feedwise you’re agreeing to them.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Feedwise. Feedwise is currently an early, invite-only beta operated by Sean (Agri Concepts) and Ryan Nixon. By using the website, the free tools or a Feedwise account, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Feedwise. Before the product moves out of beta or starts taking payment, we’ll formalise the operating entity and update these terms.

2. What Feedwise is

Feedwise is a set of decision-support tools — feed analysis, pasture cover, animal health and soil-nutrient interpretation — built on published animal-nutrition and agronomy standards. The models are deterministic, and the underlying coefficients are still being reviewed and signed off by our domain experts. Every result is indicative: it depends on the figures you enter, on assumptions baked into the models, and on real-world factors no tool can see. Treat the outputs as a guide to sense-check, not a precise prescription.

3. Not professional advice

Feedwise does not provide veterinary, nutritional, agronomic, financial or other professional advice, and using it does not create a professional relationship. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified vet, animal nutritionist, agronomist or your farm consultant or merchant rep. Animal health, feeding and fertiliser decisions can have serious consequences for your stock, your land and your business — always confirm important decisions with the right professional, who can account for your specific circumstances. You are responsible for the decisions you make and the actions you take, whether or not they’re informed by Feedwise.

4. Accounts (beta)

Feedwise accounts are currently invite-only and free. If you have an account:

  • Give accurate sign-up details and keep your login credentials confidential. You’re responsible for activity that happens under your account.
  • Let us know promptly if you think your account has been accessed without your permission.
  • The account is a beta. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, or the whole service, while we develop and validate it.
  • We don’t charge for the beta. Paid features may be introduced later under separate terms that we’ll make clear before any charge applies — we won’t bill you by surprise.

5. Acceptable use

When using Feedwise, please don’t:

  • break the law, or use Feedwise to harm, defraud or mislead anyone;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload, attack, probe or gain unauthorised access to the service or its infrastructure;
  • scrape, copy, reverse-engineer, decompile or extract the engine, coefficients or underlying data, except as the law allows;
  • resell, sublicense or commercially redistribute the tools or their output as your own product; or
  • upload content you don’t have the right to use, or that is unlawful or infringing.

6. Your data and content

The farm information and analyses you enter are yours. For account holders, you grant us the limited permission we need to store and process that information in order to run the service for you — to save your work, show it back to you and generate your reports. We don’t claim ownership of your data and we don’t sell it. How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.

7. Availability

Feedwise is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. As a beta it may be changed, interrupted or discontinued, and bugs, downtime or data loss can happen. We don’t guarantee any level of uptime, and you should keep your own copy of anything important rather than relying on Feedwise as your only record.

8. No warranties

To the extent permitted by law, Feedwise is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including that results will be accurate, complete, up-to-date or fit for a particular purpose. Where you use Feedwise in trade, you agree the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply, and you confirm it is fair and reasonable to be bound by this. Nothing in these terms limits rights that can’t legally be excluded.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Feedwise and the people who operate it won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, production, stock, revenue or data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) Feedwise or from any decision made in reliance on it. Except for liability that can’t legally be limited or excluded, our total liability to you is limited to NZ$100. This reflects that Feedwise is a free beta giving indicative guidance — see “Not professional advice” above.

10. Intellectual property

The Feedwise name, design, content and the engine behind the tools belong to us (or our licensors). We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Feedwise for your own farming or advisory purposes, in line with these terms. That right doesn’t include copying or building on the underlying engine or data.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Feedwise develops. When we do, we’ll change the “last updated” date above, and significant changes will be made clear. Continuing to use Feedwise after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Feedwise at any time, and ask us to close your account. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or misuse the service, or if we need to for legal, security or operational reasons. The sections that by their nature should survive — including advice disclaimers, liability limits and intellectual property — continue to apply afterwards.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the New Zealand courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to Feedwise.
